Cities always seem to resonate their own colour scheme. London is red and black. For me, Wellington is about terracotta and cerulean blue. Sure, there are other colours to be found, but they are often all the more vibrant for the earth, sea, and sky setting. Today, the first day of Spring, the late afternoon sky was cerulean blue. In Lambton Quay – the so-called ‘Golden Mile’ of retail – the freshly and frequently rinsed sculpture ‘Protoplasm‘ by Phil Price lolled around in the Spring breeze. Somehow Winter seems closer than Summer.
