009 – Nessie visits Wellington

When you focus with soul eyes,
You will see home in many, many places.

— Clarissa Pinkola Estes

I connected with Nessie immediately.

I named her Nessie because she looked a bit like the Loch Ness Monster. I wanted to know how she got here and why she had been left alone in this strange city so far away from her natural home.

I loved her bulging eyes and her proud stance. She gave me the impression she was watching over me as I walked past. There was a warmth about her that not even her rough appearance, or unkept surroundings, could diminish.

I felt good because of this chance encounter. Nessie reminded me of how I was feeling these days – a bit hammered and very, very tired. Yet there was also an optimism about her that stayed with me throughout the rest of my day.

Manifesto
17. Every day look through a new lens.
42. Every day celebrate. Who you are. What you have achieved. Things that matter to you.
49. Every day is a good day.
