063 – Wallow

Mud, mud, glorious mud
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood
So follow me follow, down to the hollow
And there let me wallow in glorious mud
— Flanders & Swann

Three buffaloes were sighted near a Tokaanu wallow today. Locals were startled – ‘We haven’t had this kind of stampede since the 1969. The buffaloes looked fat and sassy, and they drove off in red car … we could hear them laughing as they roared off down the road.’

Buffaloes? Us? How rude!

We have been blessed to be able to take a break away for a few days. One of the highlights has been the opportunity to explore the delights of hot mineral pools. Hot. Did I mention hot? We lolled in the pool, hippo-like with our eyes and ears above the water, and r-e-l-a-x-e-d. I’m not mentioning this to make you envious, rather to say how everyone needs a mini-break every now and again just to regroup, refresh, recreate, and recharge. So, whether the mini-break is a quiet cup of coffee and an hour time out just for yourself, or a slightly more decadent visit to the wallow, make sure you make some time for yourself. Ready for the fresh new day.

Manifesto
05. Every day is now. The present moment.
30. Every day use all your senses. Touch. Smell. Taste. Hear. See.
32. Every day have a laugh.
