081 – The lion inside

If I haven’t got my shot of the day I feel anxious. Leaving work today there was no shot in the can, in fact, no shots at all. We round a corner and there’s drumming and a lion on the prowl. This particular lion was especially good fun and he really liked coming up to people and greeting them. It’s quite a confrontation when there’s a lion in front of you, the drum is pounding, and the cymbals clashing, and you need to make a decision or two right now.

How like ourselves. We have the lion within – the braver, better self – however we often leave the lion hiding in a dark and dusty corner. It’s not about roaring, being annoying, or other forms of confrontation, it’s about healing and encouraging the lion out. It’s about making choices in our daily lives about what and how a braver, better self would be and/or do. And of course, that can be a scary thing. Which is why it is just as well to have your inner lion along with you for support. Together, you and your lion, can make good changes happen. And then, the next day, it’s a little bit easier for you both.

Manifesto
32. Every day have a laugh.
37. Every day fight for what’s worth fighting for. Pick your battles.
38. Every day be brave and give things a go. Use fear to trigger you into action.
