125 – Getting drenched

Summer is struggling to make an appearance. Each day dawns with the promise that today the weather will be different – and it’s not. Rain, wind, fog and the cold just won’t leave us. But we’re a hardy type here in Wellington. We don’t let miserable weather control our lives. As Lynsey often says, “Go get a can of harden up and get on with it”.

So today, despite the pouring rain, we headed to the market. And wet we did get, even though we were well prepared for the conditions. One of us ended up even wetter than the others as a tarpaulin laden with water decided to drop its load right on top of them while we were seeking shelter beneath it. Can you guess who the sucker was that got dumped on? Yes, you got it -it was me!

Everything, and I mean everything, I had on was soaking wet by the time we got back to our car. This whole experience was crazy but it was great fun. It seems ridiculous to think that such miserable circumstances could bring so much joy to my whole being. I’m so glad I didn’t let the weather control the choices I made today.

28. Every day you will be tested.
48. Every day there are things you can’t change. You can change the way you think about them and deal with them.
49. Every day is a good day.
