One of the ultimate comfort foods as far as I am concerned is soup especially my mamas juha od kokos (a clear homemade chicken broth served with rice or vermicelli noodles). For this soup to have its ultimate restorative and healing effect on me it needs to be made by my mama because I know there is loads of love associated with its making.
Nothing brings me back to the joy of the present moment like a bowl of my mamas soup. It helps me to forget everything. I find my whole being focuses as I swallow each mouthful on the smooth, warm feeling and pleasant taste of this magic liquid. It signifies hope. It promises that nothing is that bad that I cant deal with it. This soup unleashes an instantaneous feeling that all is good with me and my world.
You wouldnt normally expect to see soup being offered during the summer months. Yet this sign contradicts this assumption. Actually I dont think summer has arrived in Wellington this year so maybe this sign is merely a reflection of our not so glorious summer weather!
Either way I dont care. For me soup rocks- anytime, anywhere. It is without question a favourite of mine. I love eating it, I love making it and I love serving it to others.
Manifesto
11. Every day do something for someone else.
18. Every day express love. Some people need to hear it. Most people need to see it. Dont take it for granted.
20. Every day say thank you.
