Wummer

The long anticipated warmth and energy associated with summer hasn’t eventuated this year. Actually, it feels a bit like we are living in the Selfish Giant’s garden where winter hangs on all year.

Wummer has superseded summer.

Over the past few months we have been blasted, day after day, with rain (the torrential kind), cold temperatures and gale force winds. The weather has become the main topic of conversation. To an outsider it might seem like we have all become obsessive about it.

When the sun makes an impromptu appearance everyone heads for the outdoors the first opportunity they get.

There is nothing quite like the warmth of the sun as it penetrates your being. Oh how I crave it. I also crave a holiday by the water – the one place that really soothes my soul.

Manifesto
40. Every day give things a chance to work out.
48. Every day there are things you can’t change. You can change the way you think about them and deal with them.
50. Every day has an ending.
