010 – Chip off the old block

Headaches! Shhhhh! headaches – mm, much better.

When you’ve spent days and days supporting things – propping up the load of other people’s worlds – it’s normal to feel headachey. It’s been common to hear people commenting on how long/cold/miserable and/or windy this last winter has been – and somehow it doesn’t seem to let up for more than a few hours and then we’re back in all again. Gives me a headache.

I’d really like to change the Queen’s Birthday weekend to somewhere more evenly spaced between Easter and Labour weekend, and ideally add a day called ‘Inspirator’s Day’ for a four day weekend. Inspirator’s Day? Sure. A day to remember and celebrate people from the present and past who inspire us – could be Sir Edmund Hillary or some other great or somebody like my Uncle Joe who still lives in his own home at age 95. If we’re standing on the shoulders of giants, perhaps a day off to recognise them might help reduce their headaches as well as ours.

03. Every day is an opportunity to reflect on the past.
14. Every day the ordinary can be the extraordinary.
17. Every day look through a new lens.
