018 – Shoot the gap

Fridays! Is there anyone in the working world who doesn’t have a warm spot in their hearts for Fridays? Heading back for our car at the end of the day I get a glimpse of the sunset and I thought, “Shoot the gap! Escape! Run away!” Earlier in the day…

It was Loud Shirt Day today. I picked a shirt from my collection. It felt good to wear colours instead of the black on black on soot on charcoal that is de rigueur on Lambton Quay. Storming down the Quay, 99% of the population had the black thing all over. Those of us (about half a dozen) wearing colours smiled and/or did the cool eyebrow thing – acknowledging each other. I was highly entertained, and I decided that it’s going to be loud shirt day for me more frequently.

I have no idea why the dull black shades are so popular. Despite popular opinion, the dark tones are not slimming, they’re de-energising and frankly, boring. Dingy. Dreary. Grungy. Not unlike the dirty concrete in the parking building. Heading back for our car at the end of the day I got a glimpse of the sunset. I smiled. Fridays are all good.

Manifesto
24. Every day is a journey. Not a destination.
35. Every day focus on what matters to you.
50. Every day has an ending.
