107 – Sun and sky

Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul. — Luther Burbank

Outside our kitchen window we have this funny little garden. It’s not a landscape of the Capability Brown grand design scale, it is monumental on an insect scale. For a while nothing seemed to grow very successfully, and although it’s in our full view it tended to be a forgotten corner.

Forgotten no more. We both love violas and we’ve started to fill the garden in with them, inter-planted with herbs. The violas have started to take off and the results are just wonderful. We just smile and feel good when we see them. And now the herbs are coming along nicely we can start to add even more fresh herbs to our cooking. If ever there was an example of simple solutions working best this would be it. I foresee many more violas, and more herbs being welcomed into our garden in the not too distant future.

Manifesto
12. Every day love yourself.
20. Every day say thank you.
32. Every day have a laugh.
