148 – Are you lonesome tonight

Are you lonesome tonight
Do you miss me tonight
Are you sorry we drifted apart
Does your memory stray to a bright sunny day
When I kissed you and called you sweetheart
Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there
Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight
— Elvis Presley (words and music by Roy Turk and Lou Handman)

Pizza tonight. For me there’s always something lonely about takeaway food. Maybe it’s the years of finding myself on various roads eating while driving. I’m not sure which is more dangerous – the eating while driving or what it was that I was eating.

Beans on toast is somehow more engaging as a food for me than takeaways, however in these work-filled days it’s good to be able to grab hot food that’s been cooked by somebody else and able to be enjoyed when we get home. And so there we are, waiting for our pizzas, and I thought the aloes looked like they’d found each other and were no longer lonely.

Manifesto
10. Every day connect with somebody.
12. Every day love yourself.
18. Every day express love. Some people need to hear it. Most people need to see it. Donít take it for granted.
