I don’t recall a longer, warmer, dryer spell than we’re having right now. I love it. It’s the stuff of childhood memories – lying on the ground, looking up through the leaves into the blue, smelling the warm dirt and various plants, and listening to the buzz of insects. Maybe there’s a bird calling, or a plane overhead, or a neighbour roaring around with a lawnmower. Kids laughing, dogs barking – the summer celebration of life.
It makes me smile. I want lay back on the grass and somehow drink it all in through the very pores of my skin. To remember the peaceful days, the graceful, grateful days.
Beautiful.
