Exploring new horizons turned out to be an easy activity today, even while I was at work. I heard some new music (well, new to me) that really appealed. “I wonder if there’s more…”
The Wellington City Library has a good music collection. A quick check with the online catalogue, and yes, not only did they have more of the same, they had others by the same artists. I stopped in at lunchtime and grabbed a fist full.
Walking back to the office I reflected on how easy and affordable (seven cds full of music for $5 rental) it was to introduce new art experiences into my world. These works were new to me, how many tens of thousands remain ‘undiscovered’? Bringing them (via a colleague’s collection), into my world, and then sharing the idea with you expands all our perspectives.
