Stripes

“Hot weather opens the skull of a city, exposing its white brain, and its heart of nerves, which sizzle like the wires inside a lightbulb. And there exudes a sour extra-human smell that makes the very stone seem flesh-alive, webbed and pulsing.” ― Truman Capote, Summer Crossing

Some bright summer days blind you in a way
so you can only see black and white
burning scars across your retinas
girls wear no bras
boys leer from shabby cars

and the city bakes
until the very bones crackle

Manifesto
01. Every day is a fresh new day.
29. Every day eat, drink, rest, work, exercise, play, love, create for your own good. And the good of others.
30. Every day use all your senses. Touch. Smell. Taste. Hear. See.
