128 – I’ll follow the sun…

One day you’ll look to see I’ve gone
For tomorrow may rain, so I’ll follow the sun
Some day you’ll know I was the one
But tomorrow may rain, so I’ll follow the sun
— Lennon/McCartney

I spent some time in Oslo one winter. It was not a good time in my life, although the winter and the Oslo parts were not at fault. Days spent alone reflecting on where to from here were punctuated with one audio tape. A compilation of Beatles songs, including the one the above words were taken from. So here’s this homesick kiwi kid holed up in the -20 celsius winter wonderland, longing for the sun.

Fast forward a decade or two or more and here’s this homesick kiwi kid holed up in the 11-13 celsius summer winter wonderland, longing for the sun. And then, there it is arching and leaping amongst the early morning leaves. I think we – me – the plants – we – just wanted to cancel whatever else was even slightly considered and just follow the sun.

Manifesto
05. Every day is now. The present moment.
28. Every day you will be tested.
48. Every day there are things you can’t change. You can change the way you think about them and deal with them.
